July 6th Headed to Key West

We are on the road again but instead of heading home, Key West is out destination. The drive takes forever though. It is one lane and what should be an hour and a half drive turns into three. The drive itself though is gorgeous. You have water on both sides of you and the smell of salt water makes you feel somewhat  tropical. The seven mile bridge is amazing. The boats on both sides of you, the crystal blue water and the palm trees really come to life. When we finally arrive in the Keys, the first thing on our agenda is finding a place to stay. It is always so crowded but we seem to have luck on our side. We found a great hotel right off Duval Street called the Wicker House. Once we were unloaded we decided that we would shop around for a bit. Walking down the main strip which is Duval Street you can see the diversity that the city brings. You have great mixtures of  culture surrounding you in every direction you turn. It is a great experience to shop in the Keys because if its not a real department store, you can talk them into a reasonable price. We stopped for dinner at a local joint called Cheeseburgers which was phenomenal. We went back to the hotel and swam for a bit then it was time to hit the night life. We went to a night club called Aqua. They have great drinks and entertainment. It was around one when we decided to leave thinking that the bar would be closing but we were wrong. Clubs in the Keys go till 6 in the morning which is definitely different from back home. Well its off for now tomorrow another adventure awaits.
